This series of ten original wall sculpture relief works was inspired by the violin belonging to the artist’s mother. The rich tropical floral inspiration of Maui is combined in this work of art with the dramatic lava rock landscape, offset by colors of the island’s sunset. Actual platinum and gold are "fused" on the surface. Actual brass strings are mounted over a wooden violin bridge to finish off this work of art.

This decorative piece was commissioned by the renowned Honolulu artist Hisashi Otsuka. Featuring Maui dreamscapes, these masks are created using low fire glazes and china paints, resulting in works of art which are impossible to duplicate. Subtle gradiations of color further accent this highly stylized wall sculpture, giving it a sense of timeless splendor.
