The Time That Arp, Chagall and Picasso Went Walking Together in the Dream Force
Large scale 74" height bronze (including marble base); edition of 7 plus one Artists Proof. Also available in 14-1/2" height bronze; edition of twenty-two plus three Artists Proofs.
In a relaxed exploration of form and fancy this sculpture took shape. It was not until the work was finished that the unusual title came to the artist. In this sculpture Will Herrera gives reverence to three of the worlds great masters of this century. At the base, the sculpture begins with the image of the moon so often present in the work of Marc Chagall. Throughout history the moon has conjured dreams as well as fantasies for Mankind. The symbol of the bull as seen midsection in this sculpture not only refers to the awesome strength of dreams, but is an image closely related to Picasso. The uppermost portion of the sculpture represents the basic infinity of life on earth... the seed. Well known for his biomorphic (organic) form of sculpture, Jean "Hans" Arp comes to mind in this most significant element of "Dreamforce". It is the seed that carries forth life on our planet and our dreams are the seeds of inspiration, exploration, and passion in life.
